Credit: Erlo Brown My wife and I are busy walking the entire South West coast of Africa, 2700km from Cape Aghulhas to the border of Angola. We came across this colony of seals near Kleinzee on the west coast. The shear size of the colony is overwhelming, with hundreds of thousands of individuals covering a 4km section of coastline. Death and life walk parallel here. Jackal circle below while gulls circle above. Newborns lie waiting for their moms to return with fish next to carcasses of seals that will never fish again. Among all the chaos I managed to capture this photograph of adults and pups alike making their way to the water.
