Baboon Family by Willem Kruger We were doing an afternoon game drive in the Mashatua Nature Reserve in Botswana, one late afternoon, and next to almost dry riverbed we came across a group of baboons. The baboons were gathering around a small pool of water to have a last drink before moving to the trees to roost for the night. Some members were drinking water while others were enjoying the last of the setting sun while keeping a watchful eye for any sign of danger. Here is a family of three looking over the riverbed scanning the surroundings for danger. The setting sun, and the baboons looking into the sun, providing me with some interesting backlighting.
