Highly commended – Sad Monkey – In late 2017 I was traveling through the Karoo in the height of the drought. I stopped at a beautiful but dilapidated house, in what felt like the middle of nowhere, and went exploring with my camera. I found this baby vervet monkey completely alone and was struck by how sad it looked and how desperate the scene was.
