The Cadac Safari is a great size for travelling.


It’s designed for a small hiking gas cartridge, but easily attaches to a gas cylinder by a threaded butterfly adaptor hose. It offers five cooking options and transforms from a braai to a fryer and griller – then flip the oven dome over to create a bowl for boiling water, pasta and rice, or a non-stick wok to whip up a stir-fry.

The regulator controls the flow of gas and the cooker’s temperature, so you don’t have to fiddle with the small cylinder knob which can get tiresome. It may feel a bit flimsy, but the Cadac Safari Chef is the king of versatility and portability.  Folded up, it fits into a compact carry case the size of a small daypack and its size and light weight make it a worthy companion for camping, festivals, caravanning, picnics, hiking and beyond.
