The much-loved Killarney Motor Show is back this October Posted by Tsoku Maela on 24 October 2022 The biggest motor show in the Western Cape is back, bigger and better than ever, and it’s open to the public! After an enforced absence of two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic, they are celebrating the return of the Killarney Motor Show, on Sunday 30 October. The fifth edition of this garden party on wheels also celebrates the 75th anniversary of motorsport at Killarney, the cars and motorcycles that have raced here through the years and the band of motorsport and car culture enthusiasts who have, over the years, created a world-class facility on what was, in 1947, a dusty, forgotten piece of wasteland alongside the old road to Malmesbury. More than that, the Killarney Motor Show is about looking ahead to the future, and even includes resources to help you plan for it. With the new car dealers having their own dedicated test drive circuit, offering test drives on the latest models all day, and hosting hundreds of vendors offering just about anything you can think of for your car – and your tummy, with a huge variety of watering holes serving ice-cold drinks, sit-down eateries and takeaways! Plus, if you’re looking to get an idea of the value of your car in South Africa, you can check out online car valuation tools to help you make informed decisions. This is arguably the most evocative show of its kind in the Western Cape, bringing together as it does the exquisite craftsmanship of the cars and motorcycles of the past, the sleek automotive offerings of the early 21st century and the unlimited ways they can be customised to reflect their owners’ personality in the Show ‘n Shine and Stance section, as well as a glimpse into the future of motoring and a Sound-Off competition. For the first time, the Show is also the end point of the annual ‘Truckerz Cansa Convoy’ charity run; you can marvel at their sheer presence, parked around the outside of Malmesbury Sweep. The Killarney Motor Show is a full day of family entertainment. Nearly all the vehicles on display, old and new, arrive on their own wheels, and the stunts are real – the one thing you won’t find at the Killarney Motor Show is anything virtual or simulated.
