Kenyan journalist interrupted by playful elephant during broadcast Posted by Jordyn Johnson on 21 November 2022 Alvin Kaunda, a Kenyan journalist, was interrupted by an inquisitive elephant calf while reporting live from the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Nairobi, Kenya. The Trust is a rehabilitation centre for orphaned elephant calves. Kaunda was in the middle of explaining the ‘devastating impact of human actions on the natural world’ when the baby elephant reached over his head to grab his nose. The journalist tried to maintain his composure but eventually burst out laughing at the calf’s antics, reports IOL. The Trust applauded his efforts, calling it ‘professionalism personified in the face of an elephant’s trunk.’ ‘Alvin Kaunda was reporting on the serious topic of Kenya’s drought, and its impact on wildlife populations, but Kindani had other ideas.’ Take a look.
