Whale carcass removed from Salmon Bay beach in KZN Posted by David Henning on 8 September 2022 The carcass of a young whale believed to be a humpback, washed ashore in Salmon Bay in Port Edward on Tuesday 6 September. While the cause of death is yet to be determined, this is the second whale to have washed ashore in the region this week, after a whale washed up in Richards Bay on Monday. Municipal staff were on the scene to remove the carcass on Wednesday morning and take it to KwaDukuza landfill site.
