Watch South Coast surfer in water with humpback whales breaching Posted by Anita Froneman on 17 August 2022 Another day, another spectacular display of wildlife in South Africa. This time, surfer Wez Singleton went to catch some waves in Port Shepstone, KwaZulu-Natal and got way, way more than he bargained for. His father, Anthony Singleton and friend Paul Soper managed to capture it all on video when they spotted two humpback whales, breaching while Wez was surfing. ‘I actually heard them, that’s how close they were. I got a bit of a fright. When I realised they were whales, I turned around and shouted for my mates to see these whales,’ Wez told IOL. ‘It sounded like a ton of concrete hit the water. It was such a big flippin’ splash!’ Take a look.
