Snow drifts down on Matroosberg Mountains Posted by Anita Froneman on 22 July 2021 Tags:matroosberg Matroosberg Nature Reserve near Ceres in the Western Cape is one of the province’s most popular snow-seeing spots, and this winter has been no different. The Reserve shared footage of some incredible scenery from the area this week. It snowed on Tuesday and Wednesday, 20 and 21 July as predicted. No further snow is expected for the next few days, but chilly temperatures and freeze-thaw conditions reaching a minimum of -4°C are predicted for Thursday, according to Snow Forecast. Take a look: If you are interested in going to see the snow, take note of these: 4×4 going up to Lakenvlei – R100 pp Hikers – R70 pp Kids – R50 pp Dogs on leash – R30 You can also contact the Reserve via email at [email protected] (they do not recommend trying to phone due to large volumes of enquiries). The Reserve only accepts cash at the entrance gates and eatery, no debit or credit cards.
