Python eats hornbill in a tree in Kruger National Park

Posted by Anita Froneman on 5 April 2022

A python catching and eating a southern yellow-billed hornbill in a tree really is a fantastic sighting. Nainesh Bhavan filmed this encounter in Kruger National Park, and shared it with Latest Sightings.

Pythons are not venomous and kill their prey through constriction. However, they do not simply crush their prey’s bones, as many previously thought, but rather strategically squeeze its ribs to eventually suffocate them, according to Live Science.
