10 of our favourite jaw-dropping wildlife sightings

When we can’t go on safari, we live vicariously through those who can. Thank goodness for social media, and the good souls willing to share footage of their wildlife sightings online. Some people are just at the right place at the right time. That, or they’re at what they hope is the right place and they are very, very patient.

Here is a roundup of 10 of the most jaw-dropping sightings we’ve seen in a long time, shared on our site over the past months. Whether you missed it, or just want to watch it again, here they are.

10. A young caracal in Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden

This beautiful youngster was spotted in the garden by the Urban Caracal Project.

Twins are extremely rare for elephants.

8. Himalayan tahrs on Table Mountain

These animals thrive on steep, rocky mountains and are known to display magnificent climbing and jumping skills.

Njozi, a female cheetah and her playful cubs casually strolled around the cars.
