Kashmir day two Posted on 7 September 2009 It’s around 30 degrees but there’s snow on the mountains which loom, indecently high, across Dal Lake. The view, as I sit here at dawn is, broken by the intricately carved trellis of the houseboat’s veranda. Beyond are houseboats floating among lotus blossoms. I was up to see the sun rising over the Himalayas, which was greeted by mewling kites. I’ve just heard the breakfast gong. Cheers.
