Woman celebrates 92nd birthday on Mossel Bay zipline Posted on 17 February 2020 The world’s longest over-ocean zipline, which opened in Mossel Bay, measures 1,100m long, has been described as ‘1,1km of screaming fun.’ It runs from the cliffs below Point High School to the deck of the current (Shark Lab) aquarium at the Point. On 17 February, Mossel Bay resident Gaynor Canning celebrated her 92nd birthday with a zip down the adrenaline-spiking line. She is the oldest person to try the zipline so far. According to Mossel Bay Advertiser, the company let her ride for free as a birthday present. A zipline ride here costs R450 per person. Before her ride, Canning spoke to Mossel Bay Advertiser and said she wasn’t nervous at all. She did a tandem ride with one of the zipline employees. Conditions were windy, but Canning said that it only made her feel like she was ‘really doing something.’ ‘A million thanks for this fab birthday present. I can’t thank you enough for this wonderful opportunity. God bless,’ said Canning.
