White (almost) Christmas in the Drakensberg Posted on 11 December 2018 The higher-lying areas in the Drakensberg received snowfall this week as Snow Report SA predicted. Although it’s not yet the 25th, Christmas trees and decorations are up and with snowflakes drifting down on the mountain tops, you’d be forgiven for being confused by this (almost) white Christmas in Africa. No more snow has been predicted for the week, so it’s likely to melt away before Santa’s reindeer make their landings on rooftops. The video below shot by Emile van den Heetkamp and shared by Snow Report SA shows light snowfall recorded at Black Mountain in Lesotho (15km from Sani Pass).
