WATCH: World’s first MRI Scan for the fairy penguin species! Posted on 27 April 2023 After experiencing occasional wobbling, the team at Weymouth SEA LIFE Adventures in the UK decided to take their beloved fairy penguin, Chaka, to veterinary specialists to investigate its balance issues. Chaka was to undergo an MRI scan, and the team went took extra efforts to ensure that it was as comfortable as possible, monitoring Chaka throughout the procedure. Even though the scan showed nothing of concern, Chaka continues to live among its fellow colony, waddling along. Albeit a bit off balance. ‘Chaka has become a penguin pioneer. Although his own waddle may still be a little wobbly, he has made great strides for the world of veterinary science and the penguin world,’ Kico Iraola, Curator at SEA LIFE Weymouth said Watch the video below to see Chaka’s MRI journey.
