Viking announces 180-day world cruise departing 2024

Viking has revealed its 2024-2025 World Cruise itineraries, offering travellers the opportunity to sail around the world and explore 85 ports of call across 37 countries on five continents.

The longest voyage is the new Viking World Voyage I, which will depart from Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Dec 19, 2024, for a 180-day journey. Torstein Hagen, the chairman of Viking, said, ‘Our seamless World Cruises are the greatest of all adventures and allow guests to explore more of the world with us.’

On each world cruise, Viking will offer guests a deep cultural enrichment program, including onboard lectures and locally-focused entertainment, and the Viking Resident Historian program to provide guests with a high-level historical and cultural education specific to their journey.

For those who cannot commit to the entire 180-day journey, Viking offers shorter world cruise options. The 163-day Viking World Voyage II, departing from Los Angeles on Jan 5, 2025, will visit 29 countries before returning to New York. The 121-day Viking World Journeys, departing from Los Angeles on Jan 9, 2023, will visit 23 countries before guests disembark in London.

On board, guests can expect Scandinavian design in the Veranda Staterooms and Explorer Suites ranging from 270 sq ft to 1,163 sq ft. The 930-person Viking Sky and brand-new Viking Neptune both offer a luxurious and comfortable experience for travellers on their around-the-world journey.

‘Our previous World Cruises sold out in a matter of weeks, and we continue to see strong demand from our guests for extended voyages,’ Hagen stated. ‘For 25 years, we have been committed to providing our guests with immersive and culturally enriching experiences while travelling the world in comfort.’
