Vehicle accident in Kruger National Park Posted by David Henning on 11 October 2021 A vehicle accident was reported in Kruger National Park, on the Hardekool Draai between Letaba and Olifants on Friday 8 October. The accident involved a red sedan with a single passenger. A Mopani ambulance attended to the scene, where the undisclosed male was assisted and transported to Muphuta Malatatjie Hospital, outside Phalaborwa. Based on information from the driver’s gate permit, he entered the park at Orpen Gate and was travelling to Mopani Rest Camp. There were no brake marks where the accident occurred, appearing as though the driver lost control as he went around a sharp corner. This is the second recent accident in Kruger National park after a motorist drove over a cheetah near Punda Maria in the national park. SANParks reminds guests to adhere to the speed limits for their safety, and that of the animals.
