Two die in Nasrec plane crash on Sunday morning Posted by Jordyn Johnson on 16 January 2023 Two people were killed in an aircraft accident at Nasrec close to the FNB stadium in Johannesburg. The incident took place at 9 am on Sunday, 15 January. The South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) issued a statement explaining that ‘the aircraft departed from Grand Central Airport in the Gauteng province on a training flight with the intention to land back at the same airport. Onboard the aircraft were two occupants, who both sustained fatal injuries. The aircraft itself sustained substantial damage.’ Reasons for the crash have not been made public yet, but a ‘preliminary report will be issued out 30 days from the day of this incident.’ Learn more about this incident below: Follow us on social media for more travel news, inspiration, and guides.
