Tropical Storm Eloise expected to make landfall in Mozambique Posted by Anita Froneman on 21 January 2021 Tropical Storm Eloise, which developed in the north-eastern quadrant of Madagascar earlier this week, is expected to make landfall in Mozambique on Saturday, January 23. This led to warnings of heavy rainfall for the northern parts of South Africa, including Limpopo and Mpumalanga in the following days. ‘The moderate tropical storm (MTS) is expected to be upgraded again to a Severe Tropical Storm (STS) during today and a fully-fledged TROPICAL CYCLONE with winds in excess of 118km/h this evening or very early tomorrow morning after which its expected to be upgraded to an INTENSE TROPICAL CYCLONE with wind speeds in excess of 166km/h tomorrow,’ said AfriWx Southern Africa Weather Maps, Rainfall & Storm Reports on Facebook.
