The Kruger National Park is flooding Posted on 12 February 2020 The Kruger has received an abundance of rain, causing many parts of the park to flood. The north in particular has been heavily affected by the rain. SANParks management have called for visitors to be extra cautious and to avoid all gravel roads until further notice. SANParks announced an update on the camps, picnic sites and gravel roads that have been closed: Nyalaland Wilderness Trail Sirheni Bush Camp Bateleur Bush Camp (only accessible via Nkokodzi turn-off) Balule Camp Talamati Bush Camp Pafuri Gate Tshokwane & Muzandzeni Picnic Sites In a Tweet, SANParks said: ‘Sand River low water bridge inaccessible. All gravel roads in the Nxanatseni (north) Region of the Park from Pafuri to Letaba will be closed; with exception of Giriyondo gravel road as it will be operational but monitored closely and a few others depending on the developments. Biyamiti is accessible via S25.’ Many have taken to social media to share recent photos of the flooding: View this post on Instagram The wonders of rain💧💧💧great Lethaba River #southafrica #limpopo #lethaba #river #video #krugernationalpark #KNP #river #roadtrip #outdoors #rain #video #blessed #happy #saexperience #proudsa #water #raindrops A post shared by Natural Elements Photography (@naturalelementsphoto) on Feb 11, 2020 at 7:15am PST View this post on Instagram 🌿Et quand l’exceptionnel se produit. A post shared by Aurélia (@paillettes_d_ore) on Feb 11, 2020 at 8:14am PST View this post on Instagram Rain soaked Olifant River in South Africa. #roadtobali A post shared by Glenn Dobbs (@gldobbs) on Feb 11, 2020 at 5:10am PST Nyalaland Wilderness Trails Camp – Punda Maria Gate – Mphongolo River, near Shingwedzi.
