The Canary Islands’ peculiar pebbly popcorn beach

There’s a beach in the Canary Islands with a curious shoreline…white popcorn-shaped pebbles appear to lie freshly popped along the sands.

The internet is a awash with pics of these popcorn-shaped white pebbles that were spotted in a bay in the town of Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands. Reddit users picked up on this in August and web surfers all over have given their thoughts on the island’s Corralejo Beach.

Visitors to the beach confirmed the existence of these bite-sized pebbles on Google:

 

 

The white pebbles do resemble popcorn, but one might be inclined to compare them to the little flowering heads of cauliflower, or even feta cheese crumbs as one Reddit user commented. Enough salivating, though, check out these snack-worthy pebbles on what has been dubbed ‘Popcorn Bay’:
