TAAG Angola Airlines is now live with a new regional route Posted by Olerato Ramafsi on 14 December 2022 TAAG Angola has opened a new route to Accra (Ghana) from 30 November which is part of the company’s master expansion plan. The Luanda-Accra-Luanda connection has three weekly flights occurring on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. The new route suits the corporate segment needs allowing TAAG to offer a key connection between Ghana and South Africa. The aim was to capitalize on the existent traffic between West and Southern Africa, forming a solidified connection for corporate travellers between South African destinations and Accra. TAAG cover two key cities in South Africa, Johannesburg and Cape Town, with plans for a Durban expansion in 2023. While these destinations are attractive for tourism, TAAG positioned itself as a company of choice, capable of connecting South Africa with other worldwide destinations. The Accra route is operated by a Boeing 737-700NG aircraft with 120 passengers as total capacity, 12 in business class and 108 in economy class. From November, TAAG will offer 13 International destinations: Lisbon, Madrid, São Paulo, Havana, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Accra, Windhoek, Maputo, Kinshasha, Lagos, São Tomé including Luanda. ‘We will continue our growth path by adding new routes, increasing frequencies in existing destinations, and upgrading the fleet. At the same time, we are fostering our enablers to have more and more passengers choosing TAAG as their airline of choice for domestic and international travels’ said TAAG’s CEO, Eduardo Fairen, during the company’s annual meeting with the Travel Trade Agencies.
