SAWS issues warnings for heavy rain in Western and Eastern Cape

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued weather warnings for the Western Cape and Eastern Cape from 23 to 24 June.

A yellow level two warning for rain has been issued for the Western Cape. Localised flooding of roads and informal settlements can be expected. There is a higher chance of road accidents due to wet, slippery roads. There can also be expected a delay in traffic over the Cape Metropole.

A yellow level one warning for snow has been issued for the Eastern Cape. Residents can expect traffic disruptions due to icy roads, as well as pass closures.

A yellow level one warning for rain has also been issued for the Eastern Cape. Residents can expect slippery roads and reduced visibility, as well as localised flooding of informal settlements, bridges and low-lying areas.
