Run up Table Mountain to help raise R1 million for Cableway Charity Posted by David Henning on 5 May 2022 For most, taking a slow hike up Platteklip Gorge is too strenuous a task to even imagine ascending Table Mountain multiple times in one day or even week. Unless of course, you want to contribute to raising R1 million for The Cableway Charity Challenge. Picture: Getaway Gallery/ Dané van den Heever The concept of the challenge is simple: runners ascend Platteklip Gorge as many times as possible throughout the event week. The runners are granted free passage on all downward cable car trips, all to raise money for worthy causes. This year’s beneficiaries of the challenge are Nature Connect, Home from Home and Ons Plek. Funds are raised by runners via sponsorship pledges from friends, family and colleagues. You can register as a runner here, or sponsor one here. Alternatively, if you spot a runner overtaking you on the trail, be sure to save a breath to cheer them on. For more information about the event, visit the website here.
