Robertson Wine Valley organisation to close in July Posted on 12 May 2020 Due to the COVID-19 outbreak and the prohibition in South Africa, the Robertson Wine Valley organisation will close its doors on 1 July until further notice. Robertson is extremely dependent on income from the wine-tourism industry, which has been heavily impacted. The annual Wine on the River festival has also been cancelled as a result. The event was scheduled for 9-11 October. The organisation is asking anyone who has booked accommodation over this time postpone rather than cancel your visit. ‘We have taken this step with a heavy heart, but the health and safety of everybody involved in the event have to be paramount. The risks are simply too high.’ – Peter de Wet, Chairman of RWV. Peter appealed for patience from all stakeholders, who will be contacted directly regarding the way forward. If you have additional questions, please contact [email protected] ‘We will continue to work hard for the future, to bring you the unique wine-experiences and events you love. Thank you for your commitment over the last 36 years. It is no secret that the COVID-19 lockdown has been a challenge to all South Africans and we wish everyone the best.’ Image: Getaway Gallery/ Christi Nortier Related Posts Cape Town’s sustainability: Leading the way in environmental initiatives 1 June 2023 As National Environmental Month commences in South Africa, Cape Town stands proudly at the forefront... read more Kapama to host Safari Guide of the Year Awards 2023 1 June 2023 Kapama Private Game Reserve near Hoedspruit will host this year’s Safari Guide of the Year... read more Blood Lions relaunches for public viewing on YouTube 1 June 2023 Award-winning documentary feature film Blood Lions has been relaunched on YouTube for public viewing, creating... read more PREV ARTICLE NEXT ARTICLE
