Rent your own Italian island on AirBnb Posted on 9 September 2020 A listing on AirBnb lets you rent a farmhouse on its own private island not far from Venice. Called ‘Island Falconera’, the country retreat takes remote vacationing to the next level. The island is surrounded by a lagoon and features a pink farmhouse which can host up to 16 guests in bedrooms. You get there by boat which takes eight minutes from the mainland, with the nearest town being Cavallino-Treporti. In addition to lounging around the farmhouse, guests can take walks around the island, fish and kayak in the lagoon and enjoy some birdwatching. There is also a resident island dog, Atilla, which can be spotted around and about by guests. ‘Our island offers the opportunity to immerse yourself in nature in just ten minutes by boat from the mainland. Furthermore, we find ourselves isolated from the rest of civilization where telephones, commitments and Wi-Fi become superfluous. The feedback that is mostly reported to us by our guests is that the island offers the possibility to disconnect from the usual stressful life and the problems connected to it. Many guests want to return before they even leave!’ Anna Sarzetto, one of the hosts of the island told Lonely Planet. Sarzetto also said she is renting the island to help raise funds to keep it in good shape and protect it from rising tides. You can rent this lovely oasis on AirBnb for around R1,875 a night, depending on the time of year.
