Rare white grizzly spotted in Canada Posted by Anita Froneman on 27 May 2020 Grizzly bears are typically dark brown but a very rare white grizzly was recently spotted by Canmore resident Cara Clarkson and her family in the Banff National Park in Canada. She immediately caught the sighting on camera, as the white bear and another brown grizzly were burrowing for food. The bear is not considered albino, according to The Matador Network. Its white colour is rather the result of a recessive gene in the animal, causing it to resemble a polar bear.
