Radisson Blu Berlin’s giant aquarium with 1 500 fish has burst Posted by Anita Froneman on 16 December 2022 A giant aquarium in Berlin’s Radisson Blu hotel called “The AquaDom” has burst, releasing 1 million litres of water and about 1 500 fish. The 15.85m high fish tank was the largest free-standing cylindrical aquarium in the world, reports BBC. Two people were injured by the glass, but no fatalities have been reported. The cause of the burst is unknown, though some say the recent weather – which saw unusually low temperatures – might have played a role. It is reported that barely any of the fish could be saved. Such sad news that this incredible piece of engineering is now gone, together with all the biodiversity it held! Thankfully, no other serious injuries were registered.#aquadome #aquadom #radissonblu #berlin pic.twitter.com/yNOHlMxXPY — João Gomes (@JoaoRochaGomes) December 16, 2022 Le plus gros aquarium cylindrique du monde explose à Berlin 🇩🇪 Situé en plein cœur du Radisson Collection Hotel de la capitale allemande, l’”AquaDom”, plus gros aquarium cylindrique du monde, a explosé dans la nuit de jeudi à vendredi. pic.twitter.com/IwHOYbpDYM — Views (@viewsfrance) December 16, 2022 A giant freestanding cylindrical aquarium exploded at a hotel lobby in Berlin, spilling 1,500 fish and about 1 million liters of water.
