Punda Maria Gate in KNP closed due to protest Posted by Anita Froneman on 4 November 2020 Punda Maria gate in the Kruger National Park is inaccessible due to protest actions by residents from the Matiyani Village. ‘SAPS and TRT (tactical response team) are on site to monitor the situation. Updates will be posted as received during the course of the day,’ SANPArks posted on Facebook. ‘Please use alternative gates and routes to enter Kruger National Parks.’ ‘We are advising visitors to the camp to use alternative gates such as Phalaborwa to enter or leave the park, as we have closed the Punda Maria gate for now,’ spokesperson Ike Phaahla said. This is a developing story.
