Passenger gives up first-class seat to 88-year-old woman Posted on 23 December 2019 Many of us dream of being called on to get a free upgrade to the first-class cabins on a long-haul flight. This 88-year-old woman got that chance when a kind stranger gave up his seat for her. A Virgin Atlantic passenger swapped his first-class seat with an elderly woman sitting in economy so she could enjoy the airlines first-class experience. A flight attendant posted the heartwarming story to Facebook. According to Fox, the two passengers struck up a conversation while waiting for their flight when the man decided that the 88-year-old woman would enjoy his seat more than he would. “Violet is 88 years old, has been a nurse in both the UK and over in America. She travels to New York to see her daughter, but hasn’t been able to for a while because of a knee replacement. Her dream has always been to sit at the front, and Jack made that come true,” said flight attendant Leah Amy in the post. Violet asked for a picture of her in the first class cabin so she could show her daughter, but didn’t have a phone or email address so the flight attendant agreed to post her the picture.
