Parts of Cape Town flooded after heavy rain Posted by Anita Froneman on 14 June 2022 Several parts of Cape Town have flooded after heavy rain that started on Sunday, 12 June. Some of the major intersections affected include Japhta K Masemola and Duinefontein, Frans Conradie and Norwood, Borchard’s Quarry before the N2 in Nyanga 35th between Robert Sobukwe and Owen, reports Cape Town Etc. Informal settlements in Khayelitsha, Ottery, Langa, Strand and Delft are battling damage to property and several areas in and around the southern suburbs are experiencing electricity outages due to the weather. The South African Weather Service shared the rainfall figures for the province, showing that some spots like Grabouw received over 100mm in 24 hours. Heavy showers are expected to cease from Wednesday.
