New floating micro-hotel opens in Swedish Lapland

A new hotel in Sweden invites guests for a frosty stay in the Arctic. This small-scale luxury hotel has only 12 rooms, and floats on the water of the Luleriver during summer and freezes into the ice during winter.

The Arctic Bath opened its doors on November 21 and is part hotel, part spa and activity centre. Included in your stay is the traditional ‘spa ritual kit’, which features a cold bath, three different saunas and a hot tub, as well as body peeling, facial mask, foot treatment, face cream and dry brush treatments. There are also additional treatments available at extra costs.

For those wanting to get out and about, sea kayaking, snow biking, husky sledding and ice fishing are on offer.

The hotel also has a fine-dining restaurant. ‘The ethos of the restaurant at Arctic Bath is local, pure and sustainable. The chef prepares a changing five course set menu for our Culinary Arctic Dinner Experience,’ the website reads.
