New airport to be launched in Cape Winelands Posted by Anita Froneman on 9 March 2021 South African investor and business magnate Rob Hersov has bought the Fisantekraal Airport in the Western Cape and plans to launch it as a full-fledged commercial airport soon. Hersov referred to the Cape Winelands Airport as the ‘Lanseria of Cape Town’ in an interview with BizNews, saying he hopes to turn it into fierce competition for Cape Town International Airport. The Cape Winelands Airport is situated 13 kilometres northeast of Durbanville, making it a convenient option for travellers living in the northern parts of the province.
