Despite the best efforts of the emergency response team, three people lost their lives, with others transported to the hospital,’ eThekwini Municipality spokesperson Msawakhe Mayisela told IOL. It is unclear whether similar massive waves can be expected, but reports have simply dubbed it a “freak wave”. KwaZulu-Natal Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube said they await an urgent report from the province’s disaster teams and eThekwini Municipality, reports New24.
