Join the Eden Festival of Action 2022 and help restore the ecosystem

Posted by Ilhaam Hoosain on 20 June 2022

This October, join Greenpop in their Eden Festival of Action where they are on a mission to restore the planet to create a more sustainable Earth.

Greenpop is a partner of the UN Decade of Ecosystem Restoration and together they are giving ecosystems attention and time to recover by planting trees and cleaning up riverbanks. Each ecosystem varies and the time and effort into restoring them take planning and encouragement. Results will only be seen over a long period of time.

Eight key types of ecosystems are on the list: forests, farmlands, grassland and savannahs, rivers and lakes, oceans and coasts, towns and cities, peatlands, and mountains. This is a global movement and everyone needs to be involved for our planet to not only survive, but thrive.

The seven-day event will take place from 2 – 9 October 2022 at the Wild Spirit Lodge on the Garden Route. During the festival, you will learn more about the following:

  • Biomimicry
  • Natural Building
  • Tree Planting
  • Mural Painting
  • Foraging Workshops
  • Mycology
  • Herbalism
  • Wellness Activities
  • Alien clearing
  • Plant-based foods
  • Live music

There will be workshops and activities with sustainability experts. You will have the opportunity to talk and work during the day and enjoy relaxing evenings with local musicians.

On the agenda:

  1. Veld and Sea have confirmed they will be facilitating a workshop at this year’s event
  2. Soaring Free Super Foods will be there showing communities how to make healthy living easy

The long term aim of this movement is to reverse any form of degradation, because the health of our ecosystem directly impacts our health on this planet. The focus is to get all the ecosystems at optimum health as well as each ocean while working towards combatting climate change and preventing extinction.
