Jacaranda season is upon us

As winter finally releases its icy grip on the nation, South Africans can expect warmer weather on the horizon. The changing of the seasons means locals can enjoy days out in the park, and of course streets lined with picturesque, bright purple jacaranda trees.

To welcome in Spring, and celebrate the beauty our nation has to offer, we’ve gathered some of the most pleasant jacaranda images taken by South Africans.

Fun Fact about Jacaranda trees:
“They were classified as a category three invader (invasive species), In 2001 because Jacarandas invade water sources, municipalities are allowed to keep existing trees but not to replant them when they die.”
