Have a look inside the Okavango’s refurbished Vumburu Plains lodge

Posted by David Henning on 3 May 2022

After an extensive refurbishment, Wilderness Safaris Vumburu Plains lodge has reopened, offering visitors luxury accommodation in the heart of the Okavango Delta.

The 60 000-hectare Vumbura Plains Private Wilderness Area is leased from five villages, through the Okavango Community Trust (OCT). This partnership means that guides are from communities in the area and that revenue and alternative sources of income are shared with the neighbouring rural stakeholders.

The variety of habitats in the Vumbura Plains offers guests year-round water and land-based activities including day and night game drives, walks, canoeing and even taking to the sky with hot-air ballooning from April to September.
