FlySafair wins top honours at World Luxury Travel Awards Posted by Tsoku Maela on 25 October 2022 Local carrier FlySafair won top honours at this year’s World Luxury Travel Awards for Best Budget Airline in Africa and Best Cabin Crew in Africa. Guests, travellers, and industry players voted over four weeks for their favourite travel establishments across 150 categories. ‘It’s encouraging to receive this high praise as we prepare for the upcoming holiday season,’ says Kirby Gordon, Chief Marketing Officer at FlySafair. READ: FlySafair flight prices will drop by February 2023, says CMO Just last month, FlySafair received a nod from Skytrax for Best Low-Cost Airline in Africa at the World Airline Awards, while earlier this year it was recognised as the most on-time airline in the Middle East and Africa at the Cirium On-Time Performance Review. ‘We know the local airline industry has hit some turbulent spots this year and we’re doing all that we can to address the shortfall in capacity with more aircraft joining our schedule in the coming months.’ In addition to new aircraft, FlySafair is preparing to expand its flight network to 11 new destinations in Southern Africa. It launched its first regional flights to Mauritius in March and has been granted the rights to fly to Bulawayo, Gaborone, Livingstone, Luanda, Lusaka, Maputo, Nairobi, Seychelles, Victoria Falls and Windhoek.
