Air Côte d’Ivoire will be launching the quickest route between Johannesburg and Abidjan in Ivory Coast this June, connecting South Africa with West Africa.

The first flight is scheduled to take off on 29 June with four flights a week between Or Tambo and Abidjan. This new route will connect travellers to other 16 other West African countries, with Air Côte d’Ivoire flying to destinations in Gabon, Nigeria, Ghana, Mali, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Cameroon, DRC and Togo among others.

Air Côte d’Ivoire CEO Laurent Loukou believes the new route between Abidjan and Johannesburg will be key to opening up opportunities for investment and improving bilateral trade between the two countries.

‘We believe in the future of Africa just as we believe in the future of our airline. We are making bold new plans for our future and that includes this new route to connect South Africa with Ivory Coast. Africa is open for business and we want to make it easier for business to happen,’ Loukou stated.

For leisure travellers, the new route opens up exciting, often untouched travel options, as much of West Africa is often overlooked by tourists.
