Flights between O.R. Tambo and Tanzania return

Air Tanzania will resume flights to South Africa on 28 June 2019, giving South Africans easy access to places like Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar.

According to a press release, ‘Air Tanzania is set to resume services between O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg and Dar es Salaam with connections to domestic destination such as: Zanzibar, Mtwara, Mwanza, Kilimanjaro, Mbeya, Iringa and other international destination such as Zambia, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Bujumbura and soon to be launched India on 17 July 2019. ‘

There will be four weekly flights between Joburg and Dar es Salaam (JNB-DAR), scheduled to go on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays on a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.

Air Tanzania’s CEO Ladislaus Matindi, said, ‘As we continue extending the wings of Kilimanjaro over Africa and beyond, we believe that investment, trade and tourism opportunities presented by our expanding network will certainly add value to both countries as we strive to offer affordable and improved connections between Tanzania and South Africa.’

Air Tanzania, ‘The Wings of Kilimanjaro’, is the national carrier of Tanzania with its hub at Julius Nyerere International Airport.
