Eurowings launches direct flights between Kruger and Frankfurt Posted by David Henning on 17 November 2022 In what will be a major tourism boost, Lufthansa Group’s leisure carrier, Eurowings Discover, is set to land three times a week at Mbombela’s Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport. This will be the first-ever scheduled long-haul international air service to the Kruger airport. As of Tuesday 22 November, Eurowings will operate three weekly direct flights between Frankfurt and Kruger with year-round service. This will directly connect Kruger National Park with Germany and the rest of Europe, with the park’s nearest gate just a 50-minute drive from the airport. Its inaugural flight touched down at in Mbombela just after 2 pm on 17 November. watch the inaugural landing below.
