Emirates initially planned to resume flights at the end of February.

Those who are affected by the extended ban need to contact their travel agent or Emirates contact centre to arrange rebooking options. Passengers need to ensure their contact details are correct to stay in the loop regarding updates from the airline. This can be done by visiting Manage Your Booking.

‘Emirates remains committed to serving our customers in South Africa, and we look forward to resuming passenger services when conditions allow. We continue to work closely with all relevant authorities in this regard, and will endeavour to provide our customers with as much support and notice as possible,’ the statement concluded.
