El Al to resume flights between South Africa and Israel Posted on 15 April 2021 El Al will resume flights to and from Israel with one flight each week as of 6 May 2021. This service will continue up to the end of June. Thereafter, the airline will act according to demand. The SA-bound flight will depart from Tel Aviv on Thursday nights at 23h55, and will arrive at the OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg at 07h50 on a Friday. The Israel-bound flight will depart from the OR Tambo International Airport On Saturday night at 21h30, and will arrive in Tel Aviv at 07h05 on Sunday. Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport three and a half hours before departure time. Once a traveller has landed in Israel they are required to quarantine even if they’ve presented a negative COVID-19 test result certificate. Foreign travellers will need to visit the Israel Embassy in their country of residence before planning their trip. Israeli citizens are referred to the guidelines of the Israel Ministry of Health.
