Eiffel Tower to reopen end of June Posted on 10 June 2020 The iconic Eiffel Tower is ready to reopen to the public after closing during the coronavirus lockdown. The much-loved Parisian landmark will open to visitors from 25 June. Each year, the Tower sees 7 million visitors, 75% of whom are foreign tourists. While the the famous Tower will be open, there will be new rules for visitors who wish to see Paris from the top of the structure. Residents and tourists are eager to visit the iconic landmark again. The rules announced on the website include: – All visitors over the age of 11 will have to wear face masks – Visitors won’t be able to use the lift, but will have to climb the stairs with the ascent and descent dedicated to each side of the tower – A limited number of visitors will be allowed on the esplanade and on each floor – Signage and markings will indicate where visitors must stand in order to socially distance – Daily cleaning of public spaces in the Tower will be conducted ‘We strongly encourage our visitors to opt for online ticket purchase, in order to avoid the wait at the Tower’s ticket offices and therefore, use contactless payment,’ said the company. For those who are concerned about having to take the stairs, the company said they will resume the use of the lift shortly after opening but with strict rules regarding the number of people on board.
