The position will pay someone to travel the world and try new vegan-friendly food for £50,000 (R936,052) per year. The job will see the successful candidate working 35 hours a week, travelling to new countries and finding and tasting the best plant-based dishes and ingredients from each area. The Taste Director will spend roughly four months travelling to Japan, Mexico, China, India, Turkey, and Chile. All travel expenses, food and accommodation will be paid for. Interpersonal skills are essential as the person is required to network, in order to set up international partnerships. These partnerships are needed to source new ingredients for the company. Candidates need to have a background in the food industry with at least three years of experience, either as a chef or another food-related role. There is also a degree of flexibility required and a rigorous interview process. Included in this will be a full background check as well as a taste test. The taste test will be conducted in-house to ensure the participant’s palate is up to standard. If you would like to apply for the job, or for more information, click here.
