An ear-piece that lets you speak any language Posted on 20 May 2016 Well, of all the things people have done after meeting a beautiful French girl, this takes the cake. This new piece of wearable technology, from Waverly Labs, is called ‘The Pilot.’ As you can see in the video below, the plan is that people speaking completely different languages will be able to communicate in real time with just an earpiece. Personally, I just can’t get my head around it. This gadget sounds like the bomb, but it seems like they’re putting all their eggs in one basket – and indeed, anyone who’s ever used Google Translate will know that they might have bitten off more than they can chew. Maybe I’m just playing the devil’s advocate, but human conversation is a far cry from literal translation – and I worry that this simply won’t cut the mustard. The English language is a very large rabbit to pull out of a hat. So I’ll be taking it with a pinch of salt: but whether the idea goes onwards and upwards or simply up in flames, I’m excited to see what happens next.
