Dubai hotels light up to support COVID-19 fight Posted on 7 April 2020 Hotels in the city of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates lit up their windows with a heart in support of those fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. ‘Hotels across Dubai stood in solidarity to show their commitment in battling the health pandemic that has cast a shadow over communities across the world by lighting up glowing hearts across their hotel properties,’ said Dubai Tourism. Supplied ‘Joining a global initiative, the city’s hotels turned off their room lights and illuminated windows on their facades to create the symbol of love – with the aim to inspire hope through a simple, yet powerful, visual communication,’ they said. Supplied Major cities across the world have been showing their appreciation for health workers and acknowledging the struggles the coronavirus. From lighting up the Empire State building in New York, one of the worst hit cities in the US to the Eiffel Tower in Paris, governments are creating signals of hopes through beacons of light.
