Fly direct from Cape Town to Austria Posted on 30 October 2018 Austrian Airlines now offers weekly flights direct from Vienna to Cape Town. Travelers can now seamlessly travel between these two major cities on Tuesdays, Saturdays, Wednesdays and Sundays during the South African summer season. The new route launched on October 27 and the direct flight to Vienna will take you 11 hours and 25 minutes. Flights from Vienna to the Cape will depart on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with return flights on Wednesdays and Sundays. Great tourism opportunities are expected to bloom in both Austria and Cape Town with the introduction of the new route – the first flight was sold out which is a great sign. The Boeing 777 has been named, ‘Sibanye’, which translates to ‘we are one’. Fares will vary according to season but start at roughly R5 856.68 per ticket during off season, peak season costs up to R12 025 a ticket. “We are proud to commence flight operations on this new route and are pleased to expand our offering in the tourism segment thanks to the flights to Cape Town”, said Alexis von Hoensbroech, CEO of Austrian Airlines.
