Comair to be back in the air by November Posted by Anita Froneman on 10 May 2020 Comair has entered into voluntary business rescue proceedings recently. Their group is positive, however that they will be back in business soon, and released a statement to reassure their stakeholders and passeggers. ‘This is to ensure a focused restructuring of the company as quickly as possible so we can take to the skies again as a sustainable business and play our part in the country’s airline industry and economy,’ Comair says on its website. Business rescue practitioners Shaun Collyer and Richard Ferguson were appointed on 5 May 2020 and will provide all affected stakeholders with regular updates on the process. Comair was granted approval to suspend the trading of its shares on the JSE with immediate effect. This comes after the lockdown enforced as a result of COVID-19 worsened the group’s already dire financial situation. ‘We remain hopeful that operations will resume at or about 1 November 2020. Comair remains solvent and an important contributor to the South African economy. Stay safe until we take to the skies with you again.’ Persons who have purchased tickets from airlines operated by the group, such as Kulula.com and British Airways, can send queries to [email protected] Image: Getaway gallery Related Posts Cape Town’s sustainability: Leading the way in environmental initiatives 1 June 2023 As National Environmental Month commences in South Africa, Cape Town stands proudly at the forefront... read more Kapama to host Safari Guide of the Year Awards 2023 1 June 2023 Kapama Private Game Reserve near Hoedspruit will host this year’s Safari Guide of the Year... read more Blood Lions relaunches for public viewing on YouTube 1 June 2023 Award-winning documentary feature film Blood Lions has been relaunched on YouTube for public viewing, creating... read more PREV ARTICLE NEXT ARTICLE
