Cape Town named in top 10 friendliest cities in the world Posted by Anita Froneman on 28 December 2022 South Africans have long been known to international visitors as warm and welcoming and now, Cape Town has been named one of the top 10 “friendliest cities in the world.” Conde Nast Traveller’s Reader’s Choice list of the “friendliest cities in the world” is a competition in various categories that’s open to anyone who registers online and votes. Mexico’s San Miguel de Allende has been named the world’s friendliest city, while Cape Town holds down the tenth spot on the list. Cape Town also received this title in 2019, and Enver Duminy, CEO of Cape Town Tourism, said that being named one of the friendliest cities in the world signifies yet another affirmation of the Mother City’s status as a truly world-class, inclusive travel destination.
